Steve Moore - North West South, Area Manager for the Environment Agency


Steve Moore is the North West South, Area Manager for the Environment Agency. The area covers Merseyside, Cheshire and Greater Manchester, with a population of over 4.5 million people, and with its industrial heritage there are significant environmental issues to try to resolve.

Steve’s career background is in construction. He joined Tarmac as a construction engineer, working on major project civil engineering schemes whilst studying for a HNC. He progressed from this into setting up and managing a team responsible for quality, safety and environmental issues.

With the experience gained he moved across to the Environment Agency in the year 2000. He was instrumental in forming a national business improvement service. It was then onto a spell as Head of Operations before moving to Wales, where he spent 3 years as North Wales, Area Manager.

Last year Steve moved to his current position, where he leads a team of 7 managers and 450 staff. They are responsible for the day-to-day management of the area and for making sure that the needs of the local community are met.
