Take a Virtual Reality Tour of Northwich Town Centre
To assist with the masterplanning process, the Northwich Regeneration Partnership commissioned Arup Consultants to produce a Virtual Reality Model of Northwich Town Centre for the Northwich Vision and this model has now been built. |
A version of the virtual reality model is available on this website. Using computers with broadband connection, users are able to navigate the streets to any point of choice. It also allows you to select a building within the model and display information such as the building name, address, images, an individual 3D model and its location on a map. Visit the Virtual Reality model.
Andy Wallace, the Northwich Vision project manager, said: "With the increasing availability and use of broadband it is now possible to deliver 3D models such as the Northwich Vision via the web. It will have huge benefits to the community, enabling greater access to a wider range of users that will be able to follow the development of Northwich Vision on line".
Lead Councillor for Regeneration, Cllr Arthur Wood, said: "The virtual reality model is a fantastic tool. Not only will it allow people to see how the future Northwich Vision proposals will develop the town, but it will help them understand the plans and enable them to give relevant feedback".
Leader of Vale Royal Borough Council, Cllr Keith Musgrave, added: "As well as assisting us in making improvements to the masterplan, the model is a great marketing tool, and has attracted developers and some of the biggest names in retail to Northwich".
The outline planning application for the redevelopment of Baron's Quay is scheduled for submission in spring 2007.
