Moore and Brock buildings to be demolished
The regeneration of Northwich town centre has taken another leap forward, with the start of a 10-week programme to demolish the old Moore and Brock buildings at Baron's Quay.
The demolition of the disused builder’s warehouse will now free up a key riverside frontage area for Northwich Vision’s Baron's Quay development.
Every part of the old warehouse will now be recycled, explained Lead Councillor for Area Working and Regeneration, Cllr Arthur Wood.
"It is not only the bricks that will be reused," he said. "All hard standing, from concrete and masonry to the site’s roads, will be crushed on site and used again."
Some of the buildings date back to 1834 and more recently has been used as the contractor’s headquarters for the now completed project to fill Northwich’s abandoned salt mines.
